Reiki @ Union League Boys & Girls Clubs

We struggled to get a selfie with our faces, the UL sign, and the Back-to-school sign. This was far and away my favorite. 

Patrice and I had a great day in Pilsen offering reiki to the primarily hispanic community there. I was able to practice my Spanish as we connected with several non-English-speaking parents attending this Back-to-School wellness fair event.

One couple stood waiting near our banner for some time, but Patrice and I both had people in our chairs and were mid-session. Later the gentleman returned for an opportunity to receive reiki and gave me a long explanation of what his issues were—in Spanish. I couldn't make it all out, but I picked up the words, "Stress... fear... can't sleep... pain." This community is struggling under the threat of ICE raids, family separation, etcetera. We were so happy to be able help.

After his session, he smiled at me enthusiastically and said in English, "Better!" Good stuff.
