Book Launch Party: Connecting the Dots

It all went down at City Lit bookstore.

Snacks from All Natural Chicago made it festive.

I understand you're supposed to read at these things.

Everybody dug the energy ball exercise.

We laughed.

We cried.

I got a little verklempt, too.

My mom had everyone sing me Happy Birthday.

Reiki was had by a lucky few.

And there were books. Lots of books.

I was overwhelmed to have so many of my favorite people in one place to celebrate the launch of my first book, Connecting the Dots! There were massage therapy friends, Reiki students/clients/friends, advertising friends, and volleyball friends. Mom and Aunt Gay even drove in from Iowa City to join the fun!

After many hugs, snacks and a bit of wine, everyone was seated and we tried a little energy exercise. I told the story of how I came to recognize the importance of working with energy, then shared some of my favorite Reiki experiences. We laughed, we cried, then Mom got up to lead an alternative version of Happy Birthday and the crowd broke into song. Then there were more hugs and some mini-Reiki sessions.

The whole thing went by so quickly. Huge thanks to Jenn Gudreau and Alaina Bos for the stunning photography, preserving the precious memories of this day!
