Reiki at Institute for Nonviolence Chicago

This group is in the thick of it daily. Violence interrupters and support staff experience stress trying to keep the rest of us safe. We were happy to give back at this staff wellness fair. There were four of us and we introduced 42 INVC staff members to reiki.

Favorite feedback:
“I don’t know if I’m trippin’ or what, but it felt like you pulled something out of me.”

We store trauma in our bodies energetically, and reiki helps move it out. Sometimes this process is very tangible, to the surprise and delight of the recipient.

Joanna is a Reiki Master who loves to participate in non-violence events. Her career in real estate is about to be supplanted by a career sharing and teaching reiki.

Barb is newer to our group, but she’s been an avid attendee for the past three events. So glad to have you, Barb!

Jana showed up early and offered to stay late. Thanks, Jana!

A woman from the Rush hospital booth stopped over and asked for our card for their staff wellness event. We love to network at events!

Once again we saw a dramatic shift in reported stress and pain levels after just ten minutes of reiki.

Why wouldn’t everyone want to know how to use this modality?

Thanks to the volunteers and to the INVC for inviting the Reiki Brigade to their staff wellness fair.
